Diffs Go Mobile While the CEO Downloads 64 GB of Azeroth
Linear announced code review on mobile and the whole team quote-posted it within twenty minutes. Meanwhile Karri's late-night World of Warcraft download outdrew the launch, and a wall of AI-influencer posts used Linear as set dressing for someone else's agent.
What people were saying
The actual news: @linear announced that Linear Diffs are coming to mobile, with an early access signup. Within about twenty minutes the entire leadership bench had quote-posted it, which is either impressive coordination or a very fast group chat. @karrisaarinen framed it as orchestrating work, chatting with cloud agents, reviewing diffs and merging away from your computer. @artman went with three words. @jorilallo conceded that reviews in Linear are still early but said the team is cooking. @cjc offered the day's best line about approving your agent's code from the school pickup line, and @julianlehr pitched compact review on a portable device. There was also a teaser page, built by @pdotcv with @didiercatz posting beauty shots of it.
The other thing you could not miss: roughly a dozen near-identical AI-influencer posts about an agent product called Mio, all quoting the same launch tweet, all listing Slack, Notion, Linear and HubSpot as the tools it reads overnight. @kimmonismus had the biggest version. Linear appears in these purely as a stand-in for "where the work lives," which is its own kind of compliment, and also its own kind of noise.
The praise
@masumparvej_ made the nicest observation of the day about the new icon system: the layout did not change, but the perceived quality did. @liu8in said the team ships too quick and made a launch video for Priority Inbox, unprompted. @alexisgrrd has apparently tried every cloud agent that plugs natively into Linear and named a favorite, praising auto environment selection and real-time issue status updates. @anitalillie scored dozens of Linear tickets in one prompt by having Claude query Amplitude for what percentage of users actually hit each bug, which is a genuinely good use of an MCP and a mildly alarming preview of how triage will work.
Notable anecdotes
The day's most engaged post about Linear was not about Linear. @karrisaarinen posted a screenshot at 2:46am captioned "preparing for tomorrow," which turned out to be a 64.8 GB World of Warcraft download. This drew more likes than the mobile diffs launch, several Alliance-versus-Horde interrogations, at least one person asking to join his guild, and one "rip linear." Somebody also asked whether the company's CEO loves linear progression, which, fair.
Elsewhere, a Cursor changelog scrape from @blankspeaker listed Linear ticket previews among unreleased features, and @BuildFastWithAI built an onboarding dashboard specifically because chasing tickets across Linear, Jira, GitHub and Zendesk is miserable.
