A Quiet Sunday, Two Passing Mentions and a Cryptic Teaser

Barely anything happened. Linear turned up as a demo prop in a Laravel MCP tutorial, as a benchmark for a self-hosted clone, and in a three-word post from a Linear designer that explains nothing. Sundays are like that.

What people were saying

Some days the internet has opinions. Today it had three posts, two of which mention Linear only in passing, and one of which is three words long.

The most-liked was @christophrumpel announcing Laravel MCP 1.0, with a walkthrough that wires his video editor app to Claude and has it spin up a project from a Linear issue. Linear is the prop here rather than the subject, but it is a telling prop: when someone needs a plausible "real work lives here" source for an agent demo, this is increasingly what they reach for.

@kv1nsiii listed five open source repos built around agents rather than chat, and slotted Plane in as the Jira-or-Linear you host yourself, where the agent files the ticket instead of dumping a wall of text into Slack. Notably, the thing being described as valuable is the shape of the tool (issues, cycles, pages a machine can write into), not the self-hosting. Which is a compliment of sorts, delivered sideways.

From the Linear side, @adjohu posted "Working on Static," capital S, no further context, no replies. It could be a feature, a project name, a side thing, or a state of mind. We will presumably find out. Two likes suggests nobody else knows either, which is reassuring to learn.

That is the day. No launches, no changelog, no Jira slander. Back tomorrow, when hopefully someone says something.
