Nobody Talked About Linear Today, Everybody Used It

What people were saying

Zero posts from the Linear team today, which means the feed was entirely other people mentioning Linear on their way to talking about something else. This is arguably the better kind of day: nobody was pitching it, everybody was just using it.

The recurring theme, unsurprisingly, was agents. @DanKornas shared Kelos, an open-source Kubernetes-native framework for running coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Cursor) as Pods and Jobs instead of on somebody's laptop. Linear appears in the feature list next to GitHub, Jira, cron and webhooks as an event source: something happens in Linear, an agent gets work. Being listed as a trigger alongside cron is a fairly honest description of where issue trackers have landed in 2026.

@0xcato_ wrote up a Cursor engineer's cloud-agent workflow (close laptop, go for walk, agents keep shipping), and Linear turns up in the list of places you can launch from, alongside the IDE, Slack and your phone. Same shape: Linear as the button, the agents as the hands.

Notable anecdotes

The day's best post was probably @TomasMann1878, who caught Codex apparently deciding to close Linear tickets via computer use rather than the API, MCP server or CLI. Which is to say: a model with three perfectly good programmatic paths available chose instead to move a mouse cursor around a web app like a person. There is an MCP server. It is right there.

@altryne put Linear on his fall 2026 list of macOS apps he can't live without, sandwiched between Cursor and CleanMyMac. His highlighted feature is the interesting part: he's created a separate entity for each of his agents and assigns work per agent, and promises a proper write-up on wiring the whole fleet together. Linear as an org chart for software that doesn't sleep.

Elsewhere, @haranbaa shipped Notion, Linear and webhook integrations for his form product MyKayd, all free, since (he notes) they cost him nothing to offer. Form submission in, Linear issue out.

And in the day's most-liked mention, @menhguin used "Linear ticket" as a unit of measurement for an unsolvable research problem (making Claude sound less like Claude). The tracker has become a metaphor, which is either flattering or ominous.
